Over three decades later, the iconic eurodance anthem is reborn through an exciting collaboration between Pandora and Finnish producer AKRAS as Trust Me 25. This contemporary and electrifying reimagination combines a fresh future rave arrangement with deep, emotional vocals.
“I’ve wanted to remake Trust Me for years, and with AKRAS, it finally felt right. Through this collaboration, I’ve found a sound that truly represents me today,” Pandora shares.
Pandora and AKRAS haven’t just looked back — they’ve brought the song into the future, creating something completely new.
“The future rave-inspired sound appealed to us both. The song has contrast — the shock and emotion, combined with an electrifying drop made for the dance floor,” AKRAS describes.
The spoken-word delivery in the verses transforms the old rap parts into a moving inner monologue.
“While I was recording the song, I felt as if I were talking to God. The song has grown with me, and now, 32 years later, the lyrics resonate differently. That’s the story I wanted to tell with this version,” Pandora says.
“This is not an experiment – this is a new direction”
AKRAS (Olli Äkräs) and Pandora first collaborated in early 2024 when he produced Laiffi är nu, which Pandora featured on for one of the biggest TV shows in Finland.
During the production of Trust Me 25, the original Trust Me unexpectedly started trending on TikTok, hitting its fastest streaming pace ever.
“With Trust Me 25, I hope my fans can see it as a completely new song that stands on its own. I’m also grateful to have the songwriters’ positive feedback on my version.”
Trust Me 25 marks a new milestone in her career, and the journey continues, as Pandora and AKRAS even have an original song awaiting release.
“This is not an experiment — this is a new direction,” Pandora states.
