Trust Me hits 20 million streams on Spotify

Pandora’s debut single sparks new momentum through TikTok

“Trust me, I’ll be the one who fights for you when things go wrong,
Trust me, I’ll never let you down.”

… a promise that has lasted three decades and still draws in new listeners today.

Pandora’s breakthrough hit, Trust Me, has seen a significant rise in streaming since the summer. It has now reached 20 million streams on Spotify, remaining a fan favorite among devoted listeners while attracting new audiences through TikTok, where it has become a popular sound.

“My son Leon pointed out in July: ‘Mum, have you seen this?’ He discovered a fun TikTok of a German mechanic fixing his car, along with plenty of other car enthusiasts and content creators inspired by Trust Me. I had no idea the song was living its own life there,” Pandora smiles.

Trust Me was released in October 1993. It became an instant hit, peaking at #3 in Sweden, selling over 25,000 copies, earning gold certification, and finishing the year as the country’s best-selling single. The Finnish audience’s deep love for Pandora was clear from the start, with the song rising to #2 on the Finnish chart. Trust Me also landed in the top 10 in Norway and Denmark and became Pandora’s first entry on the European Hot 100 Singles chart at #28. Beyond Europe, the song reached the Top 5 in Israel and charted in Australia.

“Even though the producers and I believed in the song, we had no idea how the Swedish audience would react, let alone the international market. However, the record label wanted to release it urgently. They must’ve had a hunch,” Pandora recalls.

Since then, she has released 12 studio albums, sold over 6 million records worldwide, earned 21 Gold and Platinum certified awards across three continents, and performed at sold out venues around the world. To this day, Pandora remains one of Sweden’s best-selling solo artists of all time.

Trust Me returned to the charts in 2006, with a remix by United DJ’s vs. Pandora, peaking at #2 in Sweden.

“I’ve lived with this song since I was 23, and despite performing it countless times, I’ve never gotten tired of it. Over the years, the song has grown with me. Performing it now, as the woman I am today, gives it new depth. Having moved past my personal ‘trust-related struggles,’ sharing this message of ‘trust’ feels especially meaningful to me,” she reflects.

Pandora is deeply grateful for the love and support she continues to receive after more than three decades of her career.

“Trust Me is streaming more than ever, and it feels incredible. Thank you for streaming my songs. It truly means the world to me – trust me,” Pandora concludes.
