December 2001

Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly Blog!
On this page you can read in a more personal way about my everyday life.

DECEMBER
Happy New Year everybody!
I just could NOT let you know about my fantastic and exciting/exhausting trip to Chamonix.

Part I

It actually went straight to hell from the very beginning because of a snow STORM! I had just driven the car for about 20 minutes when we got stucked in a looong line of cars since there was an accident. I decided to be smart and take a short cut to the airport but I was not the only one who had that brilliant idea. There were at least ten cars caught in the snow on that road. I turned quickly and took another short cut. That was even worse! I had to wait quite a long time for a car that was STUCKED IN THE SNOW. In the mean time more snow fell on the road and I started to get really nervous, my friends too. After a while we could go on and a bit further forward there was some space to turn and go back since this road too was impossible to drive. Of course I got stucked and my friends had to push the car TWO TIMES on the way back to the now even looonger line of cars on the highway. We realized that we wouldn’t get there in time so we rescheduled the flight. Thank GOD! I could now take it easy the rest of the way to the airport.

Part II
When we finally arrived our flight was delayed. It felt OK. Now we will have some time to relax and eat. What we didn’t know by then was that 38 flights were cancelled! Our flight was not even on the monitor! The staffs were hysterical and the airport was crowded with angry people. We waited five hours for our flight! Of course we missed the connection flight to Geneva so we had to stay over in Copenhagen.

Part III

We had an early flight the next morning and we were there two hours before boarding to be on the safe side. The next shock was that we had to be separated on different flights because the flight was over booked. Patrick and I could go directly but our friends had to go via Frankfurt. We decided that we should wait for them in Geneva. Their plane was delayed, I don’t know how many hours but when they finally showed up at 20.30 we had waited at the airport since 11.30 !! Of course the buses and trains had stopped going and the only possibility to get to Chamonix was by taxi, which cost a fortune! What we did was to hitch hike with a guy called Jason. He was there to pick up some friends and we could go with them if we joined them for a beer at the local pub first. Deal!
We arrived 01.30, just 30 minutes before the hotel reception closed for the night.

Part IIII
Like if this wasn’t enough the inflammation in my back started to be really painful so the first day we took it really easy. The next day someone came up with the idea to go paragliding! Two hours later I found myself on a 2000 metres high alp top.  My friend Ann-Mari did the first jump. When she survived it I thought I could do it too. Frank the instructor told me to look forward and run when he counted to three. Twenty metres in front of us there was a 2000 metres precipice. ONE, TWO, THREE, RUUUUUN! Yeehaa, I’m flying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MY GOD???!! I was up there for about 20 minutes and it felt very un-natural, but cool. Suddenly I forgot about the 32 hours of hell to get there. It was worth it.
Chamonix is the most beautiful place and skiing was great of course except that Patrick burned his foot in the steam sauna so he couldn’t, and Rickard got ill because they turned off the heat in our room every damn night and it was terribly cold. My back was really painful too until I bought some painkillers and muscle relaxing medicine that I got a high from so I couldn’t talk properly and had to go to bed. Ann-Mari was OK though . . .
I think? . . .. . Laughs...... Have a wonderful New Years,

All my love!

November - December 2000

Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly Blog!
On this page you can read in a more personal way about my everyday life.

November - December

Hi again.
I hope you all had a great Christmas.
I also wish you a healthy and happy 2001!

Recordings
Most of the songs are now recorded, so the next step will be to mix them. We've done most of the recordings for the first time in my own studio. It's very convenient when it's situated 50 meters from my house.

The new album, ""A Little Closer"". Release date 21st of February 2001 in Japan
I have been extremely busy finishing the album this past three months, and especially in November and December. It's much more work now when we have our own label. But it's fun too. This album contains twelve tracks. Five songs are produced by Mats Nyman and seven are produced by Kee Marcello. One of them is written by, for me a new guy called Tomas Jansson and his friend Leif Sundin. I've been co-writing two songs together with Kee and Daniel Papalexis.

Duet
The most interesting collaboration, in my opinion on this record, is a duet between Eric Martin and I. For those who don't know Eric I can tell you that he is the singer of an American rock band called Mr. Big. I've been admiring him for a long time and it's an honour for me that we do this song together. It's called ""Every Second Beat"" and it's written by Kee Marcello. It's a mid-tempo pop song. Very powerful!

Album artwork
The photosession took place in Stockholm. We were shooting both outside and inside. I'm proud to tell that I did an outside shooting in Sweden in November! Some of the pictures were shot in the beautiful Royal Park called Drottingholm. My style is inspired of the siren of the woods, with my long hair and a very nature inspired outfit. It's a cool contrast to the music. You will soon be able to see the new pictures under ""photos"".

Others. . .
I've spent Christmas at home with the whole family. At New Years we had our traditional New Years party in our house as usual. It has become a tradition to celebrate at home with all our friends. They use to arrive at lunchtime so we have enough time to chat and drink hot red vine called ""glögg"" in front of the fireplace. That's something we always drink for Christmas in Sweden. Then we cook for hours together. This year some new found friends from a gospel choir I just joined came, and we performed gospels together. That was great fun!

See ya!!
